the robots love my blog

... which wasn't the title I had in mind, but I checked my blog stats just now. It seems that actual people do not read any of this gibberish, but it sure gets a lot of visits from the indexing bots. Seeing as most of these entries are computer oriented, you don't suppose the bots have minds of their own, do you ???
...
As predicted, I have discovered some ifolder (etc.) errors on my part. First was, OpSu 11.2 has ver. 3.7 as its standard install. There is a 3.82 in the "snapshot" repositories -- fyi, don't use this; and a 3.80 in the "standard" ifolder repositories. So, I managed to put 3.81 on one of my computers and 3.7 on the other. Needless to say, 3.81 was much cooler, so I wanted to update.
But, I used Webpin and came up with 3.82, which resulted in my ifolder not working on that computer. So, then I thought "maybe I have to remove the connection and start again." No, wrong -- this created a new download of the sync image leaving me with some serious concerns while it ran. (Though nothing seems to have borked.)
I get ahead of myself, though, first I had to figure out that the source of the not-working was 3.82 and roll back to 3.81.
Also, when I create my /home partition at install I always encrypt it. So, you would think I would have been smart enough to encrypt my external hard drive partition that is the ifolder and basic archive backup for my whole system. You would think, but you would be wrong. So, now I have to decide whether to strip it all down and re-implement it or live with the unencrypted partition.
A little planning goes a long way ... wish I did some.
Also, for some reason I have been unable to get apache2 to autostart on my server. What? Works fine on my other computer ...
