that was awesome (er, easy ...)

So, can I tether the Android? Problem was, it had installers for Ubuntu and Fedora. What to do?
...
Well, what the heck. I downloaded and installed easytether onto the Android. Then I said, "hmmm ... Fedora is rpm, OpenSuse is rpm -- I'll try it.Not always the smartest choice. As in, "has never worked before." In fact, I've converted debs via alien that have occasionally worked, but I think Fedora is set up somewhat more differently from OpenSUSE than Ubuntu, or whatever.
But it installed.
So, I launched EasyTether and followed the instructions (yes, me). In moments, NM-Applet said eth0 was connected, ran Firefox - and good to go! (Quite a difference from the two week effort it took some years ago to get my blackberry to tether on linux -- and that's with the expense of a tethering plan.)
I turned it off and on a couple of times just to be sure.
OK, so you want to know what I am running -- OpSu 11.3 64bit, LXDE desktop, nm-applet for the network manager (I had been using Knetworkmanager, but for some reason it borked on my last upgrade, so I had to switch (back) to nm-applet.
It's Sunday, AND I didn't mess up any software or take all day to get something working.
Life is good. I think I'll pay the $9 for the full version.
(Hey, Cradlepoint -- could we get a firmware update here?)
But you can forward to your wireless and connect another device:

[much] later: I had put my Cradlepoint away, probably to never be used again, but then I thought, "how do I know it will not connect?"
So I tried it and, no.
