semi-borks and non-borks

I'm very happy with my cradlepoint hotspot, but I better get some more batteries. Why can't it just come with a battery the size of, say, the box itself. That ought to do!

I imagine that the fact I keep inadvertently draining the battery will not be doing much for its longevity. Thought I had it plugged in -- and oops, I didn't. (But the other thing is I stick it in my computer bag when using it while out and about, which means I have no idea when it is about to die other than, ummm, I lose myconnection.

So, I'm waiting for the UVERSE tech people because my uverse is no longer even sort of functional. Tech support was extremely good (and so was service) back a few years ago when I first signed up. Let's see how this goes.

I got a flier for Droid X yesterday, naturally as soon as I purchased the cradlepoint. Which, in some ways would be "less" for "more", but it does have built in hotspot. As it stands now I am hauling around a lot of hardware -- blackberry, cradlepoint, iTouch -- to accomplish pretty much the same thing. Or maybe switch networks and get and EVO. Of course, my understanding is neither has an actual keyboard. Possibly not so good for a blackberry guy. (I'm not entirely fond of the iTouch typing system.) Hmmm.

Tried to jailbreak my iTouch 2G with iOS 4, but naturally it is an "MC" model, and either won't jailbreak or alternatively requires a computer tether to boot. Nevermind. (That dual boot with Android was looking pretty good...)

As to OpSu 11.3, imagine my surprise when nothing would print! Restarting and reinstalling cups did not help, but then I read someone had solved this issue by deleting their printers and reinstalling them. So, I "modified" my printer and then it worked. Who knew? BTW, the cups 1.4 interface and test page are surprisingly not-more-attractive than the old version.
