OpenSUSE 11.2 source repository seemingly borks
By basd on Oct 1, 2010 | In opensuse
The files for the OpenSUSE source code files -- which to my understanding are necessary for the capability to compile and install linux programs from source? -- seemingly disappeared and/or are broken. I couldn't figure out precisely where I might give a bug report, and then again, I'm never quite sure with bugs if they are at my end or at the server end anyway.
...
But here's the deal: Since I first installed 11.2, the respository for the source packages has been at http://download.opensuse.org/source/distribution/11.2/repo/oss/. Which in fact is where the website reports the source files are locateed. However, yesterday this repository refused to refresh. One problem with that is when YAST hits a bad repository, it seems not to refresh the other repositories, or remaining repositories, either. So, I disabled it -- but then I don't have access to the sources if I need them.
So, I went and browsed around dowload.opensuse.org. Well, under http://download.opensuse.org/source/distribution there are only subfolders for 11.0 and 11.1. Seemingly, the repositories are available at http://download.opensuse.org/source/11.2/repo/oss/. However, using this location, YAST reports it cannot find the "content.key" even though it will initially set up the repository.
Inconvenient.
