Given my current hatred of Santa Monica -- in that they handed me a wrongful ticket for blocking an intersection (and have failed to provide me with the ticket-payment-info, meaning I will have to make yet another visit to that  disgusting little city where I have vowed to never again visit) -- it was somewhat ironic to read they killed off my hero Howard Zinn.

Well, okay, as far as I know it was just "natural causes."  But I suspect they probably gave him a ticket for blocking an intersection and it was simply too much for him.  Or maybe he was protesting their ill-treatment of unsuspecting out-of-town schmucks such as myself.
