Suddenly kio-imap4 was sucking up 48% of my cpu. What?

...

KMail had been acting a bit weird. I logged out and logged back in -- didn't solve the problem. I had to reboot the computer.

Dang.

(Just for the record, I was running a Gnome login with IceWM windows manager, with kicker and gnome-panels (and the IceWM panel) and then a bunch of google widgets in one desktop with Windows running in Virtualbox on another desktop. Also running were kde4 kmail and kde4 akregator.

I have no idea whether this mish-mosh contributed to the problem, but I closed everything before logging out. Neither closing the program nor logging out cured the runaway kio-imap4 problem.)
