I started thinking maybe I should buy a new computer, one that actually can do stuff. So, I went and browsed the Best Buy website.

Oh, I found lots of better hardware than I've got, but then I wondered, "why do I think I have money to buy a new computer? And if I DID have the money to buy a new computer, why is that what I would want to do with the money I would have?"

So, I looked at other computers that were not the reason I was browsing Best Buy. That led me to some new tablet netbooks. These appear to be essentially the equivalent of the netbook I use -- but the form factor is different: No keyboard. Also, some smaller screens. 7"? 4.8"? In other words, sort of an iPad type device? And, the processor is a higher number Intel Atom than the 45o I've got. Hmmm, this might be interesting. "Not available for shipping."

That would suggest to me that it is available only in the store, correct? So, my wife and I pilgrimaged to the store ... after all, this is a computer I think my wife might use, since she is so fond of the iTouch.

But, salesperson had no idea what I was talking about. But, he was willing to look on the Best Buy website and see what I was talking about. Sure enough, there they were -- sales person said, "oh, yeah, those are really neat!"

"But, we do not have any." In fact, as it turns out, none of the Best Buy stores in my area have any. So, it's not available online and it's not available in the store. I must be chasing vaporware again.
