everything is good

In our last episode, we were not entirely certain if the blackberry broadband was working via linux.
...
Repeated efforts show that shutting down the barry connection (invoked via pppd call barry-verizon) with a ctrl C will disconnect the modem properly. To reconnect seemingly requires to unplug and replug the usb connection from blackberry to computer. I possibly had to reset everything once by running the actual vzaccess software in Windows, but that was possibly operator misunderstanding as well.
Oddly, the blackberry is not actually recognized by the linux/KDE "new device" manager, so there is not "safe to disconnect" option.
The main answer is, everything rocks. But, every solution demands a new problem and so the next issue became -- how do I access my network printer via wireless wifi while also being connected to the internet via blackberry. Because, the blackberry connection and wireless connection are mutually exclusive.
This made it necessary to figure out how to feed the blackberry into my spare backup linksys wireless router, via my spare back up not-used computer. Thus, to my working computer, everything is on the same network and ready to go. With the added benefit that my main computer is hardware fire-walled from the blackberry broadband connection.
Which lead me to yet another question -- can I feed a weak free WiFi broadband access into my linksys and effectively use the router as a firewall/repeater/signal booster?
So far, did not work. But, I didn't give up yet, either.
