1. Opera browser. Add https://duckduckgo.com and https://ixquick.com for some privacy and less spammy searches. Add the duckduckgo.com app.

So, can I tether the Android? Problem was, it had installers for Ubuntu and Fedora. What to do?Well, what the heck. I downloaded and installed easytether onto the Android. Then I said, "hmmm ... Fedora is rpm, OpenSuse is rpm -- I'll try it.
