sync'd folders

So, I've mentioned my search for synchronization solutions.
Follow up:
I like "powerfolder," which I think would be described as a peer-to-peer background synchronizer. It's open source -- but the package available requires a paid license. If I knew javascript, perhaps I could hack it and make it work. (The earlier version did not require a paid license, so I have some experience using it.)
One issue I had with PowerFolder was that when my sshfs drive disconnected, PowerFolder deleted the contents of the local folder thinking the files had been deleted. Maybe newer versions have solved this problem. (In fact, PowerFolder is designed to sync to the PowerFolder company's server, so using an sshfs drive as a "local drive" was not really within the intended design capabilities.)
In any event, today I read about ifolder. which - if I'm not mistaken, is a Novell project.
Rather than a peer-to-peer solution, this is a server-based synchronizer. But, the white paper makes it sound very useful.
I'll try it out sometime and report back. In the meantime, back to searching for a mysql database synchronizer. I guess it would be possible to write a php-based synchronizer for my various databases, but that would be a time-consuming and cumbersome task.
Later, sports fans...
P.S. -- my KDE4.2.3/OpenSuse 11.1 install power manager has gotten weird. It shuts down to ram at about 89% battery for some reason. But, when I try to actually quit to ram, it doesn't work right. I end up at a console prompt and have to login and reboot or halt the system.
Weird.
I hope the quit to ram system starts working again soon. (Not to mention that the early shutdown is really inconvenient ...)
