fun with google gadgets

I had put a webcam google gadget on my desktop. I just thought it would be fun to see different places from around the world.
Oddly, I haven't been able to get any of the "options" to stick. (Same thing with another gadget, that presumably lets you select a particular webcam.
Some of the webcams were aimed at very odd stuff. Such as, "why would anyone have a web cam here?"
Then I found out that if I click on the link, I can open the web cam in my browser. And, some (or all?) of them are user controllable. So, I can get a bigger picture and also look around a bit.
Is this cool or what? I was just visiting the Angwin, CA airport. I guess the purpose of the web cam is for private pilots to check out the airport conditions before heading in/out of the airport.
Yay! Something new and completely useless to waste my time on!
